Available for freelance projects

Senior WordPress developer for US agencies and product teams

I’m Rolando Escobar. Since 2019 I’ve built custom themes, plugins and online stores for companies across the US, from the Figma file to launch and the maintenance that comes after. I take freelance projects on weekday evenings and weekends, working remotely from El Salvador.

Projects for Moynihan Train Hall, Louis Armstrong House Museum, Orange County Dental Society and Counterintuity.

What I can take off your plate

Hand me a design, a plugin that needs fixing or a list of integrations. I’ll turn it into a site your team can edit safely and your visitors can use. More on Figma to WordPress, plugins and integrations, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and Elementor.

Themes from Figma to WordPress

Pixel-accurate custom themes built with the block editor or Elementor Pro, set up so your team can edit content without breaking the layout.

Plugins and integrations

Custom plugins, REST API integrations and data importers that connect WordPress to event platforms, CRMs and the rest of your stack.

WooCommerce and Shopify stores

Online stores with the products, payments and shipping rules your business needs, on WooCommerce or on Shopify.

Performance, SEO and ongoing care

Core Web Vitals work, on-page SEO, updates and security hardening, with staging and production kept apart so a launch never breaks the live site.

How I work

A simple process for agencies and product teams, with a fixed price agreed up front. Working with an agency? See how I work under your brand.

01

Tell me about the project

Send a few lines, a brief or a Figma file. I reply within 24 hours with questions or a first read.

02

Fixed quote and plan

You get a fixed price, scope and timeline before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

03

Build on staging

I work in Git on a staging copy and share progress you can click through, never on your live site.

04

Test before launch

Mobile and cross-browser checks, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and performance, so launch day is quiet.

05

Launch and hand-off

A deploy without downtime, notes on what I built and how to edit it, and follow-up support when you need it.

Questions agencies usually ask

When are you available?

I take freelance work on weekday evenings, from 5 pm El Salvador time (UTC−6), and on weekends. Calls start at 5 pm, or at 4 pm when something is urgent: mid-afternoon on the West Coast and early evening on the East Coast. Everything else runs async by email or Slack.

How do you charge?

By project. After a short call or brief, I send a fixed quote with the scope and timeline. Anything outside that scope gets its own quote before I start on it.

Can you work inside our team’s workflow?

Yes. I work with Git and with staging and production environments (including WP Engine), and I can join your Slack and task board.

Do you work in English?

Yes. I’ve worked with US teams since 2019 and use professional English (C1) for calls, email and documentation.

What kind of projects are a good fit?

Custom WordPress themes and plugins, Elementor or block-editor builds, WooCommerce and Shopify stores, API integrations, and performance, accessibility or maintenance work on existing sites.

What happens after launch?

I hand over documentation for what I built and stay available for fixes and follow-up work, quoted the same way.
