Privacy policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

This site is the portfolio of Rolando Escobar, a WordPress developer in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. It’s short because the site collects very little.

Who is responsible

Rolando Escobar, Santa Tecla, El Salvador. Email: rolando@rolandowp.com.

What I collect and why

When you use the contact form

Your name, your email address and your message. I use them only to reply to you and, if we work together, to manage the project. The form sends your message to my mailbox by email and saves a copy in the website’s database, in a private inbox that only I can open. The copy holds what you typed and the page you sent it from; it doesn’t store your IP address or your browser details.

Cookies and similar storage

The site only uses what it needs to work:

  • pll_language (cookie): remembers whether you’re reading in English or Spanish. It lasts one year.
  • cookieadmin_consent (cookie): remembers your choice in the cookie banner. It lasts one year.
  • rw-theme (your browser’s local storage, not a cookie): remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your device.

If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, the site also loads Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages are read and which contact options are used (for example, that the form was sent, never what it says), so I can improve the site. It sets _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies, which last up to two years, and Google keeps the collected data for 14 months. Google Analytics doesn’t store full IP addresses. If you reject analytics or don’t answer the banner, nothing is loaded. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie button at the bottom of the page.

The site doesn’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Server logs

Like any website, the hosting server records technical data about each visit, such as your IP address, browser, date and the page you requested, to keep the site secure and working. The hosting provider manages these logs and deletes them automatically after a short period.

Who else handles your data

  • Namecheap, which hosts the website and my mailbox, on servers in the United States.
  • Google (Gmail), because messages sent to my mailbox are forwarded to my Gmail account.
  • Google (Google Analytics 4), only if you accept analytics cookies. Google processes the data in the United States and elsewhere under its own privacy policy.

I don’t sell your information or share it with anyone else.

How long I keep it

I keep messages while we’re in touch and for up to two years after our last exchange. The copy saved on the website is deleted automatically two years after you sent it. If we work together, I keep project correspondence as long as the work and my accounting require.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you, correct or delete the information I have about you, or to stop using it. Write to rolando@rolandowp.com and I’ll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union or in some US states, local data protection laws may give you more rights, and I’ll respect them.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
