Visitor website for New York’s Moynihan Train Hall. I rebuilt its live Amtrak and LIRR train tool and took care of maintenance and content.

About the client

Moynihan Train Hall is the Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road hall at 421 8th Avenue in Manhattan, built inside the former Farley Post Office building.

What the site does

  • Live Amtrak and LIRR departures and arrivals that refresh on their own.
  • An events calendar with recurring series and calendar export.
  • Floor maps, a shop and dine directory and a newsletter signup.

My contribution

  • I rebuilt the live train tool because the previous version wasn’t working reliably. It shows Amtrak departures and arrivals, the next Long Island Rail Road trains with their stops and the LIRR service status, and it refreshes over AJAX without reloading the page.
  • Ongoing maintenance and content updates.
