About the client

The Louis Armstrong House Museum is the home in Corona, Queens, where Louis and Lucille Armstrong lived. It offers guided tours, exhibitions at the Louis Armstrong Center, archives and concerts.

What the site does

Visitor information, tours and an events calendar built on The Events Calendar Pro.
Newsletter signup and links to ticketing, membership and donations.
Content from the museum’s separate Virtual Exhibits site, brought into the main site.

My contribution

A homepage redesign built with custom Gutenberg blocks.
The importer that pulls posts from the Virtual Exhibits site through its REST API and creates them in WordPress, so the team doesn’t have to copy content by hand. The code is on GitHub.
